From the rugged slopes of Howell Mountain in the Napa Valley, Valance represents a life's passion and decades of experience transformed into a unique Cabernet Sauvignon. With his wife Valerie, vintner Michael Raymor dedicates each day to wine growing, just as he has for over 30 years.
The California native, raised on a family orchard, has overseen grape production for a number of renowned wineries, but his dream was to make his own wine. The result of detailed site analysis and daily care for each individual vine, Valance represents a dream come to fruition.
The husband and wife team employ sustainable farming practices that put quality before quantity. Each vineyard is nestled among towering oak trees and is steeped in a deep pastoral heritage. Only three of the ten acres of land are dedicated to viticulture and remains as it did when Finnish pioneers first cleared the land in the 19th century.
The unique site allows Michael, a naturally intuitive third-generation farmer, to nurture every vine from planting to maturity. The land blended with a lifetime of love and labor—finds its way into every bottle.
