Cabernet Sauvignon 2003
Produced from our three-acre hillside estate on the slopes of Howell Mountain, we introduce the 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon. Our vineyard lies on a beautiful ridge overlooking the Napa Valley. Its unique climate and soil combine perfectly for the cultivation of premium red wine.
The growing season was long and moderate, allowing the grapes to mature evenly on the vine. A cool harvest period produced one of the longest Valance growing seasons. Harvest was on October 29th.
The winemaking reduced maceration time to 25 days to preserve the fresh fruit while still extracting the tannins that form the heart of the wine.
The wine is deep purple in color and aromatically expresses blueberry, cedar, and black fruit. Velvety tannins surround a core of ripe fruit. This 100% Cabernet sauvignon pairs well with cheese, roast meat, and chocolate and will age well into the next decade.
Our 30-year old Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard produces only 90 cases annually.
